1.Tandem switching uses software ports assigned

as ETE-16D-(

1 stations.

These ports

require no

suppporting

hardware

to function,

but they

must be assigned as follows:

 

Assign an ES1 card to an unused slot (4Cl). The corresponding port numbers are automatically

assigned by the system. Program these slots as

ETE-16D-( ) phantom terminals (lE2).

2.Ports associated with any type of installed,

working stations, cannot be assigned as Tandem Ports.

3.Maximum Tandem Ports = 20

4.Tandem Port default = None

5.Maximum Tandem Port Hunt Groups = 8

6.Virtual extensions cannot be assigned to a tandem port hunt group.

7.During step 4, any current Tandem Port hunt group assigned for the Tandem Port chosen is displayed.

8.The Talk Start Timer (2D2) controls the length of time the Tandem Port is held.
