This Engineering Technical Information (ET\) Bulletin describes the steps necessary to connect a DEES Automatic

Ground Start Unit (Model 155 Mk2) to a Single Line Telephone (SLT) on the Electra Markll for operation during a power failure.

2.424 AWG one pair wire.

2.5ETE-1-2 Telephone or standard 2500 set.

2.6Modular line cord (1) with RJl 1 connectors.

3.OPERATlON

3.1There are no special operating procedures for the DEES 155 Mk2 to work. When the Electra Mark II is operating, the SLT operates normally.

3.2During power failure of the Electra Mark II, the ground start trunk that is connected to the DEES 155 Mk2 is automatically switched over to a direct connection with the SLT. The SLT can then originate or receive outside calls.

4.PROCEDURES

4.1If an SLT port is not already available, insert SLI-EB ETU into an available interface slot.

4.2Connect Ground Start Trunk to an available COI-E/EB port on the MDF.
