DASA D-4800 DIRECTORY DIALER CONNECTION

1.DESCRIPTION

This Engineering Technical Information (ETI) Bulletin describes the steps necessary to install an ADA-E (Ancillary Device Adaptor1 into an ETE-GD-1, ETE-16D-1, ETE-IGK-1, or ETE-6-1 Multiline Terminal, for the connection and operation of a DASA Directory Dialer (Model D-4800). It also provides the information required to connect the DASA Directory Dialer to the ADA-E unit and to get it ready for programming.

2.LIMITATIONS

2.1You must depress the CLEAR button on the D-4800 dialer, after a connection to a CO line is established and station goes off hook, to release the dialer from the line.

2.2The dialer cannot be used for internal calls or for any system feature function requiring a dial access code.

3.PARTS REQUIRED

3.1ADA-E Adaptor kit. (Stock #700340)

3.2DASA D-4800 Directory Dialer.

3.3RJ-35X modular jack.

3.4Approximately 6 feet of four conductor station wire; to reach from the Multiline Terminal to the RI-35x.

3.5Four small spade lug terminals (to fit wires in step 3.4).

3.6Electra Mark11 Multiline Terminal.

4.PROCEDURE

4.1Disconnect the modular handset cord from the lower housing.

4.2Disconnect the modular line cord from under the terminal and from the E&J-13C!/Wjack.

4.3Turn the Multiline Terminal upside down (face down) and place it on a flat surface (refer to Figure 1).

4.4Slide the directory out of the way (Not required for ETE-6-1 Multiline Terminal).
