4.3.2 Connect the terminal to Genie RS232C cable connector using an RS232C null modem cable (pins
2 and 3 reversed) and ensure the switch is set to TERMINAL/PRINTER (See FIGURE 11.
4.3.3 Apply power to the terminal
4.3.4 Apply power to the Genie (The System Diagnostic message should appear on the terminal).

NOTE : Genie BAUD Rate Settings
The Genie RS232C port is pre-set for 1200 baud. Ifthe terminal being used cannot be configured for
1200 baud, Genies baud rate can be changed to 300,240O or 9600 as follows:

Remove Genies top cover by removing four (4) screws (two on top and two on the bottom).
l
Remove Genies front cover (shown in Figure 1) by removing four (41 screws (two on top and two on
the bottom) holding the cover in place and the two HEX screws securing the RS232C connector to the
front cover.
l
Locate the CPU card ( the lowest PCB with two ribbon cables attached).
l
Disconnect the two ribbon cables from the CPU card.
l
Remove the CPU card. HANDLE THE CPU CARD BY THE EDGES
ONLY.
l
Locate the Baud Rate Jumper Block #2 on the CPU card (near the ribbon cable connectors).
l
Move the jumper to the desired baud rate setting.

Reinstall the CPU card. Again,
be careful to handle the CPU by the edges only.

Reconnect the two ribbon cables to the CPU card.

Replace the front and top covers.
