The Output Power tab allows you to assign thresholds and alarm severities for the transponder output
power.
D.5.7.9 Action Tab
The Action tab allows you to force the ONS 15808 optical output power.

Field Description
Input Power 1
Value When the Update button is clicked, displays the current transponder input power (in dBm).
Low Sets the low threshold for the input power, in dBm, and the alarm severity level.
High Sets the high threshold for the input power, in dBm, and the alarm severity level.
Fail Sets the failure threshold for the input power, in dBm, and the alarm severity level.

Output Power Setting
Force Optical
Output Power Allowsyou to activate the output power control mode on the FEC transponder and force the transponder to
regulate the optical output power. An improper setting of the transponder output power level could affect
either of the following:
The equalization of the channel downstreamfrom the optical line, the optical channel S/N in fiber,and
at the end of the optical line.
The optical channel power at the end of the optical line.
