5 Printer Driver for Linux

5.1Installing the printer driver

Operating environment

This section explains the required environment for the printer driver.

Before installing the printer driver, make sure that your computer meets the following requirements. If it does not, the printer driver may not func- tion properly.

Personal computer		IBM PC or a compatible with a Pentium
		200MHz or higher CPU
Operating system		Redhat Linux ver.6.1, 6.2
		Turbo Linux ver.4.0, 6.0
		Open Linux ver. 2.3, 2.4
		SuSE Linux ver. 6.3, 6.4
Memory		64MB or more
I/O interface	Parallel	Centronics interface
		(Conforming to IEEE1284)
	Network	10/100 Base-T (UTP)
Free space on hard disk		2MB or more under /opt
