Loading Paper and Other Media

Setting the Bypass Tray Paper Type

To make sure printing is done correct- ly, you must specify one of the follow- ing for the type of sheets loaded in the tray:

Plain paper, Recycled paper, Spe- cial paper, Color paper, Letter- head, Preprinted, Labels, Bond paper, Cardstock, Transparencies, Thick paper

Important

When you load thick paper or transparencies in the Bypass Tray, always specify the type of paper. Duplex printing is not possible on paper in a tray for which Thick pa- per or Transparency has been set.

A Press {Menu}.

B Press {T} or {U} to display "Pa- per Input" menu.

D Press {T} or {U} to display "Pa- per Type".

Paper Input:

E Press {Enter #}.

The following message appears on the panel display.

F Press {T} or {U} to display "By-

pass Tray", and then press {Enter

Paper Type:

Bypass Tray

The screen to select the paper type appears.

G Press {T} or {U} to display the type of paper you have loaded, and then press {Enter #}.

Bypass Tray:

Thick Paper

The screen returns to step F in a few seconds.

H Press {On Line}.

Ready

"Ready" appears on the panel dis- play.

C Press {Enter #}.

The following message appears on the panel display.
