NetWare 4.x, 5/5.1 - Advanced Settings

The actual procedures for configuring the machine vary depending on whether the Network Interface Board is configured as a print server or as a remote print- er. This section describes how to configure it in the NetWare 4.x, 5/5.1 environ- ment.

❖To use NetWare 5/5.1

•If you use Pure IP, configure the machine to use the TCP/IP protocol. For more information about how to make the settings, see the Setup Guide.

Preparation

The following procedures use the Property Sheet method in configuring the Network Interface Board. If you configure the Network Interface Board as a NetWare print server for the first time, we recommend you use the Wizard method. See p.51 “Quick Setup Using the NIB Setup Tool Wizard”.

❒This section assumes NetWare is functional and that the necessary environ- ment for the NetWare Print Service is available.

❒You should install the client software released from Novell in Windows be- fore running the NIB Setup Tool for configuring in NDS mode or using Win- dows NT 4.0.
