Appendix

SNMP

The Network Interface Board functions as an SNMP (Simple Network Manage- ment Protocol) agent using the UDP and IPX protocols. Using the SNMP man- ager you can get information about the printer.

The default community names are “public” and “admin”. You can get MIB in- formation using these community names.

Reference

You can configure SNMP from the command line using telnet. See p.97 “SNMP”.

You can configure SNMP from SmartNetMonitor for Admin using the NIB Setup Tool. See Help for SmartNetMonitor for Admin.

You can configure SNMP from your Web browser. See Help on the CD-ROM.

Limitation
