Parameter Description
Configuration Name A previously configured name set on the Switch to uniquely identify the MSTI (Multiple
Spanning Tree Instance). If a configuration name is not set, this field will show the MAC
address to the device running MSTP. This field can be set i n the STP Brid ge Global Set-
tings window.
Revision Level
(0-65535) This value, along with the Configuration Name will identify the MSTP reg ion configured on
the Switch. The user may choose a value between 0 and 65535 with a default s etting of 0.
MSTI ID This field shows the MSTI IDs currently set on the Switch. This field will always have the
CIST MSTI, which may be configured but not deleted. Clicking the hyperlinked name will
open a new window for configuring parameters associated with that particu lar MSTI.
Type This field allows the user to choose a desired m ethod for altering the MSTI set tings. The
user has two choices.
Add VID Select this parameter to add VIDs to the MSTI ID, in conj unc t ion with t he VID L ist
parameter.
Remove VID Select this parameter to remove VIDs f rom the MSTI ID, in con junction with
the VID List parameter.
VID List (1-4094) This field displays the VLAN IDs associated with the specific MSTI.
Click Apply to implement changes. Click Edit to modify an entry and Delete to r emove an entry.
STP Instance Settings
This table is used to create STP Instance Settings on the Switch. An STP instance m ay have multip le members with
the same MSTP configuration. There is no limit to the number of STP regions in a network but eac h region only
supports a maximum of 16 spanning tree instances (one unchangeab le default entry). VIDs c an belong to only one
spanning tree instance at a time.
To view this window, click L2 Features > Spanning Tree > ST P Instance Settings as shown below:

The following information can be set:
Parameter Description
MSTI ID Displays the MSTI ID of the instance being modified. An entry of 0 in this field denot es the
CIST (default MSTI).
Priority Enter the new priority in the Priority field. The user may set a priori ty value between 0 and
61440.
To modify an entry click the Edit button, to see the STP Instanc e O p erat ion al St at us of a pr e vious l y configured setting
click View, the following window will be displayed.
