802.1v Protocol Group Settings
The table allows the user to create Protocol VLAN groups and add protocols to t h at group. T he 802.1 v Proto col VLAN
Group Settings supports multiple VLANs for each protocol and allows the user to conf igure the untagged ports of
different protocols on the same physical port. For example it allows the user t o configure an 802.1Q and 802.1v
untagged port on the same physical port. The lower half of the table displa ys any previously created groups.
To view this window, click L2 Features > 802.1v Protocol VLAN > 802.1v Protocol Group Settings as shown
below:

The following fields can be set:
Parameter Description
Group ID Select an ID number for the group, between 1 and 16.
Group Name This is used to identify the new Protocol VLAN group. T ype an alp han um eric string of up to 32
characters.
Protocol This function maps packets to protocol-defined VLANs by examining the type octet within the
packet header to discover the type of protocol associated with it. Use the drop-down m enu to
toggle between Ethernet_II, IEEE802.3_LLC and IEEE802.3_SNAP.
Protocol Value
(0-FFFF) Enter a value for the Group.
Click Add to make a new entry and Delete All to remove an e ntry.
