Increased vibration (with the motor uncoup led from its load) can be indi cative of a change in
balance due to a mechani cal failure or the loosen ing of a rotor part, a stator wind ing
problem, foundatio n problem, or a change in moto r alignment.
4. Verify that the magnet ic center indicator alig ns with the shaft.

When the rate of bearing temp er ature rise is less than 2° F (1.1° C) pe r half-hour,
the bearing temperatu re is considered to be stab il i zed.

If the total bearing temp erature exceeds 195 F (91 C) , th e motor should be shut
down immediately.
