Once the machine compone nts are within dial indic at or range, the adjustment s for

misalignment should be made in a specific seq uence. The four position s of alignment describe d

below are arrang ed in the rec ommended order.

1. Angular in elevation — This alignment is adjust ed with shims and is not readil y los t in

making the other adju s tme nts.

2. Parallel in elevat ion — This alignme nt is also made with shims, but it cann ot be made while

there is angu lar misalignment in elevation.
