Surge Protection

Surging of the compres s or c an be determined by the PIC thro ug h operator configured

settings. Surge will cause amperage fluctuat io ns of the compressor moto r . T he P I C monitors

these amperage swin gs, and if the swing is greater than the co nfigurable setting in one second,

then one surge count has occurred. The

SURGE DELTA PERCENT AMPS

setting is displayed

and configured on the Service1 screen. It has a default setting of 25% amps,

PROTECTION COUNTS

can be monitored on the Mai nt03 table.

A surge protection shu td own of the machine will occu r when ever the surge protectio n

counter reaches 12 counts with in an operator sp ecified time, kn own as the

SURGE TIME

PERIOD

. The

SURGE TIME PERIOD

is displayed and configured on the Service1 screen. It

has a default of 2 minutes.
