Failure
Check that PSIO communi cation plugs are connec ted correctly. Chec k SMM communi-
cation plug. Check fo r proper SMM power supp ly. See Control Modules section.
High Oil
Temperature While
Running
Check for proper oil level (too much oil). On hermetic EX compressors, check that TXV
valve is operating p roperly. On hermetic or o pen-drive FA compress ors, check water
supply to oil cooler.
Blank LID Screen

Incrase contrast pote ntiometer. See Figur e 50. Check red LED on LI D for proper opera-
tion, (power supply ). If LED is blinking, bu t green LED’s are not, r eplace LID module,
(memory failure). Ch eck light bulb if backlit m odel.

LID is not properly address ed to the PSIO. Make sure that “Attac h to Network Device,”
“Local Device” is set t o read the PSIO address . Check LED’s on PSIO . Is red LED oper-
ating properly? Are gr een LED’s blinking? See con trol module troubleshoot ing section.
Control Test Disa bled
Press the “Stop” pus hbutton. The PIC must be i n the OFF mode for the Control Test to
operate. Clear all alarm s. Check line voltage percent on Status01 screen. The percent
must be within 90% to 1 10%. Check voltage inpu t to SMM, calibrate star ter voltage
potentiometer for accuracy.
Vanes Will Not Open
in Control Test
Low pressure alarm is active. Put machine int o pumpdown mode or equ alize pressure.
Check guide vane actuator wiring.
Oil Pump Does Not
Run
Check oil pump voltag e supply. Cooler vessel pre ssure under vacuum. Pres surize ves-
sel. Check temperat ure overload cutout swi tch.
LID Default Screen
Does Not Update
This is normal operat ion when an alarm is pr esent. The screen freez es the moment the
alarm is activated t o aid in troubleshootin g. The Status01 screen pro vides current infor-
mation.
Machine Does Not
Stop When the STOP
Button is Press ed
The STOP button wir ing connector on the LID mo dule is not properly co nnected or the
machine is in soft sto p mode and the guide vanes are closing.
LID Screen Dark Light bulb burned out. Replace as needed.
