Solvents of any type shoul d never be used on windin gs pr ov i ded with abrasion prot ection.
Abrasion protection is a gr e y, rubber-like coa ti ng applied to the windin g end -turns.
Adequate ventilat i on must always be provided in any area where solven t s are
being used to avoid the danger of fire, explosion or health hazards. In confined
areas (such as pits) ea ch operator should b e provided with an air line respirator, a
hose mask or a self-contained breathing apparatus. Operators should wear gog-
gles, aprons and suitable gloves. Solvents and their vapors should never be
exposed to open flames or sparks and should always be stored in approved
safety containers.
