air-to-air heat exchanger of TEAAC motors should be cleaned using a supplied tube brush
having synthetic fib er br is t les (not wire of any type). The standard cooler is equ ipped with steel
tubes, however, in spe c ial cases aluminum tubes m ay be us e d and wire brushes can se r iou sly
erode the tube in teriors over sever al cleanings. A ll tube brushing s hould be conducted from the
front (fan end) t oward the drive end of the mot or such that d islodged dirt will not fall into t he fan
housing.
The stator windings of motors with open ventilation systems can become contaminated with
dirt and other substan c es br ou ght into the motor by the ven tilating air. Such con taminants can
impair cooling of the wi ndi ng by clogging the air pas s ag es in the winding end-t ur ns an d vent
CAUTION CAUTION
!
Water spray wa shing of motor s is not recomme nded. Manual or compressed air
cleaning is preferred . If it becomes necessary to spray wash a motor, it shou l d
be done with extreme car e. Do not aim high pressure spr ays directly at air inlet
openings, conduit connections, shaft seals, or gasketed surfaces to prevent the
possibility of forcing water inside the machine.
