pressure reaches test level.

Do not exceed

140 psig (965 kPa).
5. Close the charging valv e on the machine. Remove th e copper tube if no longer re qui red.
Repair the Leak, Retest, and Apply Standing Vacuum Test
After pressurizing t he m ac hi ne, test for leaks with an el ectronic leak detec to r, soap bubble
solution, or an ul trasonic leak d etector. Bring the machine back to at mospheric press ure, repair
any leaks found, and ret es t .
After retesting and fin ding no leaks, apply a stan ding vacuum test, and then dehydrate the
machine. Refer to the S ta ndi ng Vacuum Test and Machi ne Dehydration in the Be fo re Initial
Start-Up section.
Checking Guide Vane Linkage (Refer to Figure 35)
If slack develops in the dri ve chain, backlash can be eliminated as follows:
1. With machine shut down ( gu ide vanes closed), rem ov e chain guard, loosen ac tu ator
holddown bolts and remove cha in.
2. Loosen vane sprocket set screw and rotate sprocket wheel until set screw clears existing
spotting hole.
3. With set screw still loose, replace chain and move vane actuator to the left until all chain
slack is taken up.
4. Tighten actuator holddown bolts and retighten set screw in new position.
5. Realign chain guard as r eq uired to clear chain.
