ISDN port status using the show port isdn command, and the debug isdn events commands (see below).

Because the ALERTING is indication enough that the signaling is working, we drop the call from the com- mand line: unit(cfg)#call 123456 drop

The interface then sends a DISCONNECT message to the line, and the PSTN answers with a RELEASE COMPLETE

Verify ISDN layer 2 and 3 status

ISDN layer 2 and 3 can be verified using a show command:

The line “link state: up” tells you that layer 1 is up. To debug the layers 2-3 state machines, use the command

debug isdn event slot port {all layer2 layer3}.
