Chapter 34 MPLS Traffic Engineering - Fast Reroute Link Protection

How to Configure Traffic Engineering - Fast Reroute Link Protection

Command

Purpose

Step 8

preferred-path {[interface] tunnel

Specifies the MPLS TE tunnel that traffic uses.

tunnel-number peer host-ip-address}

interface—Specifies the preferred path using an output

[disable-fallback]

interface.

Example:

tunnel—Specifies an MPLS TE tunnel interface that is the

core-facing output interface.

Router(config-pw-class)#

preferred-path interface Tunnel41

tunnel-number—Tunnel interface number.

disable-fallback

peer—Specifies a destination IP address or DNS name

configured on the peer provider edge (PE) router, which is

reachable through a label switched path (LSP).

host-ip-address—Peer host name or IP address.

peer—(Optional) Disables the router from using the default

path when the preferred path is unreachable.

Step 9

exit

Exits pseudowire class configuration mode and enters the global

configuration mode.

Example:

Router(config-pw-class)# exit

Step 10

mpls label protocol ldp

Specifies the label distribution protocol for an interface. Here LDP

protocol is used.

Example:

Router(config)# mpls label protocol

ldp

Step 11

mpls ldp igp sync holddown

Specifies how long an Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) should wait

milliseconds

for Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) synchronization to be

achieved.

Example:

milliseconds—Peer host name or IP address.

Router(config)# mpls ldp igp sync

holddown 1000
