Configuring MLPPP Backhaul

DETAILED STEPS

	Command	Purpose
Step 1
	enable	Enables privileged EXEC mode.
		• Enter your password if prompted.
	Example:
	Router> enable
Step 2
	configure terminal	Enters global configuration mode.
	Example:
	Router# configure terminal
Step 3
	interface serial	Specifies a serial interface created on a channelized E1 or channelized T1
	slot/port:time-slot	controller:
	Example:	• slot—Slot number where the channelized E1 or T1 controller is
		located.
	Router(config-if)# interface	• port—Port number where the channelized E1 or T1 controller is
	Serial0/0:0
		located.
		• time-slot—For ISDN, the D channel time slot, which is the :23
		channel for channelized T1 and the :15 channel for channelized E1.
		PRI time slots are in the range from 0 to 23 for channelized T1 and in
		the range from 0 to 30 for channelized E1.
Step 4
	no ip address	Disabled IP address processing.
	Example:
	Router(config-if)# no ip address
Step 5
	encapsulation encapsulation-type	Configures the encapsulation method used by the interface.
		• encapsulation-type—Encapsulation type.
	Example:
	Router(config-if)# encapsulation
	ppp
Step 6
	ppp multilink	Enables Multilink PPP on an interface .
	Example:
	Router(config-if)# ppp multilink
Step 7
	ppp multilink group group-number	Restricts a physical link to join only one designated multilink group
		interface.
	Example:	• group-number—Multilink-group number (a non-zero number).
	Router(config-if)# ppp multilink
	group 2
Step 8
	exit	Exits interface configuration mode.
	Example:
	Router(config)# exit
