DETAILED STEPS

Disabling IPv6 Multicast Forwarding

This procedure disables IPv6 multicast forwarding on the router. The IPv6 multicast forwarding is turned
on by default when IPv6 multicast routing is enabled.
To disable IPv6 multicast forwarding, complete the following steps:
SUMMARY STEPS
1. enable
2. configure terminal
3. no ipv6 mfib
DETAILED STEPS
Command Purpose
Step 1 enable
Example:
Router> enable
Enables privileged EXEC mode.
Enter your password if prompted.
Step 2 configure terminal
Example:
Router# configure terminal
Enters global configuration mode.
Step 3 ipv6 multicast-routing [vrf
vrf-name
]
Example:
Router(config)# ipv6 multicast-routing
Enables multicast routing on all IPv6-enabled interfaces and
enables multicast forwarding for PIM and MLD on all enabled
interfaces of the device.
Step 4 asr901-platf-multicast enable
Example:
Router(config)# asr901-platf-multicast
enable
Enables platform multicast routing.
Command Purpose
Step 1 enable
Example:
Router> enable
Enables privileged EXEC mode.
Enter your password if prompted.
