User Guidelines
This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example limits messages logged to the console based on
severity level "alert".
console(config)#logging console alert
logging file
Use the logging file command in Global Configuration mode to limit syslog
messages sent to the logging file based on severity. To cancel the buffer, use
the no form of this command.
Syntax

Default Configuration
The default severity level is

error.
Parameter Description
severity–level–number (Optional) The number or name of the desired severity
level. Range:
[0 | emergencies]
[1 | alerts]
[2 | critical]
[3 | errors]
[4 | warnings]
[5 | notifications]
[6 | informational]
[7 | debugging]
