ip rip authentication
Use the ip rip authentication command in Interface Configuration Mode to
set the RIP Version 2 Authentication Type and Key for the specified VLAN.
Use the no form of the command to return the authentication to the default
value.
Syntax
ip rip authentication {none | {simple
key
} | {encrypt
key

key-id

}}
no ip rip authentication
none—Do not use RIP authentication on th e VLAN.
simple—Use simple authentication on the VLA N.
key
— Authentication key for the VLAN. (Range: 16 byte s or less)
encrypt — Use MD5 encryption for the RIP interface.
key-id
— Authentication key identifier for authentication type encrypt.
(Range: 0-255)
