Part 2: Second Harmonic Distortion
1. Set the synthesized signal generator controls as follows:
FREQUENCY, 40 MHz
AMPLITUDE, –10 dBm (50 Ω Input only)
AMPLITUDE, –4.3 dBm (75 Ω Input only)
2. Connect the equipment as shown in Figure 2-46.

75 Ω Input only: Connect the minimum loss adapter between the LPF
and INPUT 75 Ω.
3. Press Preset on the analyzer. Press the Factory Preset softkey, if it is
displayed. Set the controls as follows:
FREQUENCY, Center Freq, 40 MHz
SPAN, 1MHz
AMPLITUDE, –10 dBm (50 Ω Input only)
AMPLITUDE, 44 dBmV (75 Ω Input only)
Attenuation Auto Man 10 dB
BW/Avg, 30 kHz
4. Adjust the synthesized signal generator amplitude to place the peak
of the signal at the reference level.
