Required Tools
The following tools and items may be req uired during the up grade:
■High-intensity flashlight or AC d rop light
■3/8-inch flat-blade sc rewdriver with a 10-inch shank (minimum)
■5/16-inch and 1/4-inch soc kets with a ratchet and 10-inch extension
■Long-nose pliers to disc onnect ground strap s and straighten bac kplane
pins
■Static-proof or original circ uit pack pac kaging for transporting circuit
packs
■Labels for identifying the p ort circuit pac ks and cables attac hed to the
rear of cabinets
■Twelve spare #12 and #10 self-tapping s crews
■Four spare carrier ground strap s
■Wrist ground strap
■Repair kit for backplane pins (KS-22876 L2 or equivalent)
■One copy of each of the foll owing manuals:

Label Cables
To make reconnecting the cables simp ler and more reliable, label b oth ends of
the connector cab les associated with the carrier to b e removed.
