Software Upgrades
After a software upgrade, several fea tures require special attention b ecause of
screen changes or p otential naming conflic ts in the upgrade p rocess. Most of
these changes and c onflicts relate either to a software upg rade from standard
ACD to Call Vectoring or to changes in the ARS/AAR features to compen sate for
increasing uncertainty in the North American numbering plan. Also, if ARS is
enabled (when upg rading from IR1 Release 8 to GD-91 software), it may be
necessary to modify the Call Type field on the ARS Analysis screen to “ unk” for all
call types excep t “iop” or “ int.”
After the upgrade, the Software Associ ate should check these for ms to ensure
the upgraded translations are appropriate for the c ustomer’s needs. Refer to

,
for information to make any required c hanges.
ISDN Gateway
When upgrading to a Release 8r, up grade the ISDN Gateway (if installed) to the
correct software release. Call progress messages to the ISDN Gateway may be
intermittently lost, therefore, this upgrad e must occur at the same time as the
system upgrade.
Contact your Lucent Technologies representative fo r th e correct softwar e release.
