Verify Interchange (H/C only)
This step is performed twic e, once for each carrier b ut not at the same time.
NOTE:
Because of the memory mismatch b etween the standby and a ctive SPEs,
typing the status spe command yields two different scenarios.
After the circuit pac ks have been replaced in the first carrier:
1. Type status spe and press Enter:
■The Standby Refreshed field s hows no
■The Standby Shadowing field s hows off
■The Standby Handshake field s hows up
2. Go to Upgrade other carrier (H/C only)
After the circuit pac ks have been replaced in the second carrier:
1. Type status spe and press Enter to make sure the active side is read y for
interchange. When it is ready,
■The Standby Refreshed field s hows yes
■The Standby Shadowing field s hows on
■The Standby Handshake field s hows up
2. Go to Affix position label(s)
Upgrade other carrier (H/C only)
To upgr ade t he oth er car rier, lock the SPE sw itch es on t he DUPIN T to the other
carrier.
NOTE:
The new active carrier resets (cold 2 restart). Wait until the login prompt
appears then log in.
Repeat the steps from Check the active tone-clock (H/C only) throug h Verify
Interchange (H/C only).

1. Place the new strip label(s) over the ol d carrier label(s).
