Fiber-Remoted Port Networks
For a critical reliability system with 1 fib er-remoted EPN, use 4 fiber optic c ables,
4 lightwave transceivers, and 4 lightguide interco nnect units (provided b y the
PSC). For a critical reliability system with 2 fiber-remoted EPNs, use 12 fiber optic
cables, 12 lightwave tran sceivers, and 12 lightg uide interconnect units (p rovided
by the PSC).
For fiber-remoted cabinets, route the c ables down the cab le tray and out the
bottom of the cabinet to the M DF to the lightguide interconnec t units.
For Either 1 or 2 Collocated Expansion Port Networks
1. At control carrier A of PPN cabinet 1 (see Figure 5-28 through Figure
5-31):
Install a lightwave transceiver on the c able connector at slot 1A 01.
Connect a fiber optic cable to the transceive r just installed.
Carefully attach the fiber optic cable (with cab le ties) to the wall of
the cable tray at the built- in cable tie positions.
2. Behind control carrier A of EPN cabinet 2:
Install a lightwave transceiver on the c able connector at slot 2A 01.
Connect the other end of the fib er cable to the transceiver just
installed.
Carefully attach the fiber optic cable (with cab le ties) to the wall of
the cable tray at the built- in cable tie positions.
At the top of the cabinet, coil the surplus fiber op tic cable and
attach it to the wall of the cable t ray.
3. Behind control carrier B of PPN cabinet 1:
Install a lightwave transceiver on the c able connector at slot 1B 01.
