Step 2

Set the maximum number of secure MAC address for the port.

Command	Mode	Description
port security PORTS maximum		Sets a maximum number of secure MAC address for

Step 3

Set the violation mode and the action to be taken.

When configuring port security, note that the following information about port security vio- lation modes:

•protect drops packets with unknown source addresses until you remove a sufficient number of secure MAC addresses to drop below the maximum value.

•restrict drops packets with unknown source addresses until you remove a sufficient number of secure MAC addresses to drop below the maximum value and causes the Security Violation counter to increment.

•shutdown puts the interface into the error-disabled state immediately and sends an SNMP trap notification

Step 4

Enter a secure MAC address for the port.

		Sets a secure MAC address for the port.
port security PORTS mac-	Bridge	PORTS: select the port number.
address MACADDR vlan NAME		MACADDR: enter the MAC address.
		NAME: vlan name

To disable the configuration of port secure, use the following command.

no port security PORTS mac-		Deletes a secure MAC address for the port.
		PORTS: enter the port number
address MACADDR vlan NAME
		MACADDR: enter the MAC address.
