After restoring a default configuration, you need to restart the system to initiate.

The following is an example of restoring a default configuration of the system.

SWITCH(config)# restore factory-defaults

You have to restart the system to apply the changes

SWITCH(config)#

6.3System Management

When there is any problem in the system, you must find what the problem is and its solu- tion. Therefore, you should not only be aware of a status of the system but also verify that the system is configured properly.

6.3.1Network Connection

To verify if your system is correctly connected to the network, use the command, ping. For IP network, this command transmits echo message to ICMP (Internet Control Mes- sage Protocol). ICMP is internet protocol that notifies fault situation and provides informa- tion on the location where IP packet is received. When ICMP echo message is received at the location, its replying message is returned to the place where it came.

To perform a ping test to verify network status, use the following command.
