To configure RIP authentication, use the following command.

10.3.14Restarting RIP

Occasionally, you should restart RIP system only when the switch is still operating while you manage and configure RIP. At this time, the switch reports the neighbors that RIP system is being restarting. It keeps previous route information until the restarting is com- plete in timer.

To restart RIP system only, use the following command.
