Con®guring PPP Interfaces (Talk 6)

ipcp Lists the Internet Protocol control protocol options.

IPCP compression

Indicates whether the PPP handler accepts compressed IP headers. PPP supports Van Jacobson TCP/IP header compression (RFC 1144). Enable this option when the point-to-point link is running at a low baud rate.

A value of ªVan Jacobsonº indicates that header compression is supported. A value of ªNONEº indicates that compressed headers are not being accepted.

Send Our IP Address

Indicates whether IPCP is con®gured to send the local IP address for this PPP interface to the remote end of the link in our initial ªCon®gure Requestº. Some PPP implementations require this information.

ipv6cp
Lists the Internet Protocol version 6 control protocol options.

Indicates whether IPv6CP is con®gured to send the local IP address
for this PPP interface to the remote end of the link in our initial

lcp Lists the parameters and options for the Link Control Protocol.

Link Control Protocol includes the authentication protocols used to
authenticate the remote peer. If the authentication protocol is either CHAP
