Con®g Request Tries:

Number of times NCP sends con®gure-request packets to a peer station while attempting to open a PPP link.

Terminate Tries:

While awaiting a Terminate-Ack, the number of times NCP sends

Terminate-Request before it closes a PPP link.

Con®g Nak Tries:

Number of times NCP sends con®gure-nak (not acknowledged) packets to a peer station while attempting to open a PPP link.

Retry Timer:

Number of milliseconds that elapse before timing out of NCP's transmission of con®gure-request packets (to open the link) and terminate-request packets (to close the link).

LLC

Use the LLC command to access the LLC con®guration environment (available only if APPN is included in the software load). See ªLLC Con®guration Commandsº on page 235 for an explanation of each of these commands.

Set

Use the set command to set HDLC parameters, LCP options and parameters, IPCP options, BCP options, and NCP parameters. ªParametersº are related to internal operations for such things as retry counts. ªOptionsº are things that are negotiated with the other end.

Notes:

1.Values immediately following the command option prompts re¯ect the current setting of that option. They are not always the default values illustrated in this chapter.

2.The set hdlc commands are not supported on PPP dial circuit interfaces.
