2-4.2 Read and Write Electronics

The read circuits for the M2488 utilize fifteen analog LSI that were developed for the M2483. These components have been field proven to be a stable and low cost design.

The write circuits of the M2488 use enhanced head driver ICs developed with the latest semiconduc- tor technology. This technology allows the integration of six write channels (tracks) into one chip.
