The OPTIMA’s PARALLEL IN ALT HOST port is dedicated for use as an alternate host port. Each of the two serial ports, if not used as an output port, may also be used as an alternate host port. If only one serial port is to be used as an alternate host port, use SERIAL I/O PORT 0.
Connecting an Alternate Host via Parallel
The cable required to connect the PARALLEL IN ALT HOST port to an alternate host device such as an IBM PC or compatible is available from AGILE as an option.
To connect the PARALLEL IN ALT HOST port to an alternate host device:
1.Insert one end of the AGILE parallel alternate host cable into the connector on the rear of the alternate host device. Both ends of the cable are the same, so either end may be used.
2.Tighten the thumbscrews until the connection is firm, but do not overtighten.
