Connecting a Second Alternate Host via Serial
If using both of the 5250 OPTIMA’s serial ports as alternate host ports, connect the second device through SERIAL I/O PORT 1. This port has a
To connect SERIAL I/O PORT 1 to an alternate host device:
1.Insert the device end of the serial alternate host cable into the connector on the rear of the alternate host device.
2.Tighten the thumbscrews until the connection is firm, but do not overtighten.
