Configuring an ISDN Numbering Plan

The ISDN Numbering Plan button in the Protocol Configuration window opens the PRI ISDN Numbering Plan dialog box. This function allows you to select how the system will identify and code the Called Number for six different types of calls. This coding instructs the CO on how to interpret the number being sent to it.

The PRI ISDN Numbering Plan dialog box displays the six classes of numbers (call type) that can be sent to a CO:

101CCCC NumbersCIC (Carrier Identification Codes) dialing.

011 International Numbersfor placing calls outside the U.S.

1+10-digit Numbersfor local and long distance calls that require dialing 1 before the number.

10-digit Numbersfor local and long distance calls that do not require 1 before dialing.

7-digit Numbersfor calls placed within the local area that do not require an area code or a 1 prefix.

All Other Numbersfor calls that do not fall into any category above, for example, 911, 311.

For each class, select the type of number/numbering plan from the drop-down list:
