Procedure 5

Installing the UPS ground cabling

CAUTION

Damage to Equipment

Take care when connecting battery leads to the UPS.

A battery reversal can result in severe damage to the

UPS.

1Make sure the safety ground/protective earth wire is connected on all Large System columns.

2Daisy-chain ground cables to each UPS (see Figure 32) using #6 AWG wire.

3Daisy-chain ground cables to each bypass switch (if equipped) using #6 AWG wire.

4Run a #6 AWG wire between the ground lug on the rear of the pedestal, the bypass switch, and the UPS to a common frame ground point.

5Run a #6 AWG wire between the common ground point and the ground bus in the service panel.
