Installing earthquake rods
1Remove the top cap on each column:
a.Pull forward on the clips underneath the front edge of each air exhaust grill on the top cap. Lift up and remove the grill as illustrated in Figure 119.

b.Use a 8 mm (5/16 in.) socket wrench to remove the six screws that secure the top cap (see Figure 120 on page 353). Lift the top cap from the column.
