The power unit is equipped with a 3 wire ground ing type p lug ; a plug
having a third (g rounding) p in. This plug will only fit into a grounding type
power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unab le to insert the p lug
into the outlet, contact an electric ian to replace the outlet. Do not defeat
the safety purpose of the grounding type plug .
Do not allow anything to rest on or spill into the products.
To reduce risk of fire and electrical shock, do not overload p ower outlets.
Never push objects of any kind through the power supp ly or d istribution
unit slots as they may touch dangerous voltag e points or short out parts
that could result in a risk of fire or electrical shoc k.
To reduce risk of electric shoc k, do not disassem ble these prod ucts.
Return them for repair when needed. Opening or removing covers may
expose you to dang erous voltages or other risks. Inc orrect reassembly
can cause electric shock when the prod uc ts are subsequently used .
Power down the power unit (see label on p ower unit on how to do this) and
refer servicing under the following c onditions:
If liquid has been spille d into any of the prod ucts.
If any of the products have b een exposed to water.
If any of the prod ucts do not o perate normally.
If any of the prod ucts have been dropped or damage d.
If any of the products exhib its a change in p er formance.
Do not attempt to recharge batteries on your own. The batteries may leak
corrosive electrolyte or explod e. The 1145B power unit rec harges the
batteries sa fely.
Remove the batteries if the power unit will not be used for a long period of
time (several months or more) since during this time the battery may leak.
Discard disc harged b atteries as soon as possib le. Discharged batteries
are more likely to leak.
Do not store batteries in high temperature areas. Batteries stored in a c old
environment should be protec ted from condensation d uring storage and
warming. Batteries should be stab ilized at room temperature prior to use
after cold storage. Do not install batteries if the manufacturing d ate on the
label indicates that the b atteries are more than 6 months old.
