Large Battery Holdover
When using large battery holdover, 1 battery c abinet is required for every system
cabinet requiring holdover. The 24-cell battery c abinet must have a float voltage
of 54.2 VDC.
1. Connec t the -48 VDC cable to the large b attery connect or. See Figur e 1-4 .
2. Connec t the -48 VDC RETURN cable to the ground term inal block.
3. Connec t the temperature sensor cab l e, from the b at te ry c abinet, to J20.
NOTE:
An adapter cab le may be required when c onnecting the temp erature
sensor cable to the J58890CH unit. See Table 1-4.

!CAUTION:

For a cabinet with a battery charg er, read the caution label on the 397C

battery charg er b efore disconnect ing batteries.

Some cabinets contain a J58890CE-2 AC Power Distribution Unit without an
optional battery charg er. Install the shorting cab le only when a battery charg er is

not

installed.
