traceroute

Use the traceroute command to trace a route to a remote host.

Syntax: > traceroute

Syntax: > traceroute {addresshostnamestop}

Field

Definition

address

IP address of the remote host.

 

 

hostname

Host name of the remote host.

 

 

stop

Stop the traceroute process.

 

 

Example: Adit 3500> traceroute to 192.168.1.200

(192.168.1.200), 10 hops max

1 192.168.1.200 (192.168.1.200) 10.500 ms 1.013 ms 0.926 ms

Traceroute: Destination Reached
