traceroute

Use the traceroute command to trace a route to a remote host.

Syntax: # traceroute

Syntax: # traceroute {addresshostnamestop}

Field

Definition

address

IP address of the remote host.

 

 

hostname

Host name of the remote host.

 

 

stop

Stop the traceroute process.

 

 

Example: Adit 3500# traceroute to 192.168.1.200

(192.168.1.200), 10 hops max

1 192.168.1.200 (192.168.1.200) 10.500 ms 1.013 ms 0.926 ms

Traceroute: Destination Reached

upgrade

Use the upgrade command to upgrade the system software. Note: This requires the TFTP software to be running in the background.

Syntax: # upgrade ip-address address file filename [check]

Field

Definition

address

IP address of the TFTP server with the software upgrade file.

 

 

filename

Name of the software file to load on the system, this is a .rmt file.

 

 

check

Check only. Verify that the file is a software image file. Do not store

 

the file as the software image

 

 

Example: adit 3500# upgrade ip-address 192.168.1.1 file adit3500_1_0.rmt
