Chapter 3 Avaya P330-ML Layer 3 CLI Commands

ip address

User level: privileged, supervisor.

Use the ip address command to assign an IP address and mask to an interface.

The syntax for this command is:

ip address <ip-address> <mask> [<admin-state>]

ip address

The IP address assigned to the interface.

mask

Mask for the associated IP subnet

admin-state

The administration status – either Up or Down

Example:

To assign the IP address 192.168.22.33 with mask 255.255.255.0 to the interface “marketing”:

Router-N(config-if:marketing)# ip address 192.168.22.33

255.255.255.0

Done!

ip admin-state

User level: privileged, supervisor.

Use the admin-statecommand to set the administrative state of an IP interface. The default state is up.

The syntax for this command is:

ip admin-state <up/down>

up/down

Administrative state of the interface.

 

The choices are

 

up (active) or

 

down (inactive).

Example:

Router-N(config-if:marketing)# ip admin-state up
