Lead Length Specifications
Adhere to the NEC and any local codes during the installation of ASD/Motor systems. Excessive lead
lengths may adversely effect the performance of the motor. Special cables are not required. Lead lengths
from the ASD to th e motor in excess of those listed in Table 1 may require filters to be added to the output
of the ASD. Tabl e 1 lists the suggested maximum lead lengths for the listed motor voltages.
Note: Contact Toshiba for application assistance when using lead le ngths in excess of those
listed.
Exceeding the peak voltage rating or the allowable thermal rise time of th e motor
insulation will reduce the life expectancy of the motor.
When operating in th e Vector Control mode the carrier frequency shoul d be s et to
2.2 kHz or above.
