Configuring Tape Device Extension

If you are creating a 1x1 configuration, the only selectable routing type is Dedicated Circuit. All other options in this dialog box are grayed out and ignored.

The selection you choose will be applied to all the Fibre Channel Device Extension interfaces.

The options selectable from this dialog box are limited by the license key for the node. If the license key does not provide support for the Fail Over and Load Balancing network routing types, only the Dedicated Circuit network routing type is selectable, and all other options on this dialog are grayed out.

If you want to change the Network Routing Type after you have created the data paths, double-click the F/C interface on the Network Map. Click the Network button at the bottom of the F/C interface dialog box (FCDevExt10 - Node10) and select the Network Routing Type. You do not need to create the data paths again to change the Network Routing Type.

The FC Device Extension DataPath Wizard - Finish dialog box appears.

10.Click Finish to complete the configuration of this data path and to return to the Network Map.

11.If your network requires Edge LUN mapping, proceed to the “Static Mapping the LUNs and Filtering the Source WWN” section below.
