SNMP Commands

snmp-server trap-source loopback

The snmp-servertrap-source loopback command allows an operator to control the source IP address of SNMP traps generated by the BSR by specifying a loopback interface as the source IP address for SNMP traps. The normal convention for generated SNMP traps is to set the source IP address equal to the IP address of the outgoing interface. The snmp-servertrap-source loopback command overrides this convention and instead uses the IP address of the specified loopback interface. The no snmp-servertrap-source loopback command removes the loopback source interface.

Note: Before using the snmp-server trap-source loopback command, the loopback interface must be configured and assigned an IP address.
