enable secret

The enable secret command allows you to provide an encrypted password that supersedes the enabled password. The no enable secret command removes the secret.

Use the enable secret command to provide an encrypted password for entering Privileged EXEC mode in the running configuration file when then no service password-encryptioncommand is in effect.

Command Syntax

specifies an ENCRYPTED secret

WORD

the secret (31 character maximum) -

 

enclosed with double quotes if the

 

secret contains spaces). The "%" and

 

"!" characters must not be used.
