This performance veri￿cation test must be performed with the EMC analyzer set in the spectrum analyzer mode.

A 50 MHz CW signal is applied to the INPUT 50 ￿ of the EMC analyzer through two step attenuators. The attenuators increase the e￿ective amplitude range of the source. The amplitude of the source is decreased in 10 dB steps and the EMC analyzer marker functions are used to measure the amplitude di￿erence between steps. The source internal attenuator is used as the reference standard. The test is performed in both log and linear amplitude scales.

It is only necessary to test reference levels as low as 17 db￿V (with 10 dB attenuation) since lower reference levels are a function of the EMC analyzer microprocessor manipulating the trace data. There is no error associated with the trace data manipulation.
